Every type of stay, what it costs, and which is right for your trip or move.
Quick answer
Condos suit most long stays and start around ฿8,000 a month for a studio. Serviced apartments cost more but include cleaning and bills. Hotels and guesthouses are best for the first few weeks while you decide which area actually suits you.
Whether you’re here for a week or moving for good, here’s how your options stack up.
Book a hotel or guesthouse for your first 1–2 weeks, then rent a condo once you’ve explored the neighborhoods. See our rentals, or for Jomtien condos try our trusted partner JR Plus Property.
From the local guide
Where you stay shapes your whole experience. Jomtien is calm and beachy, Pratamnak is quiet and green, Naklua leans local, and Bang Saray is a sleepy fishing town. Each suits a different kind of stay.
Our companion ebook walks the areas one by one, with the food, beaches, and markets around each, so you settle in the right spot.
See the area guideNo. Book two to four weeks somewhere central, then view places in person. Photographs hide traffic noise, construction, a long walk to the beach and afternoon sun on the balcony.
A condo is normally rented bare from a private owner, with bills on top. A serviced apartment is run as a business, includes cleaning and often utilities, and costs more per month for the convenience.
A guesthouse runs ฿400 to ฿1,200 a night and a hotel or resort ฿800 to ฿4,000. Budgeting for one or two weeks of that while you view condos in person is far cheaper than signing a year on the wrong place.
A condo, at roughly ฿8,000 to ฿30,000 a month against ฿15,000 to ฿40,000 for a serviced apartment. The condo comes bare and the bills are extra, which is where most of the difference goes.
